Q: Has American Express ever done this before?

A: Last year, American Express launched the first ever Members Project. Cardmembers submitted thousands of amazing projects, voted for their favorite, and ultimately supported one Cardmember's project. The winning project, which received $2 million in funding, involves providing clean drinking water to children across the developing world. The funding has allowed UNICEF to provide clean drinking water in four African countries: Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, and Guinea. Greg Allgood, a Cardmember from Cincinnati, Ohio, submitted the winning project.

Q: How does Members Project work?

A: Cardmembers come together at membersproject.com to collaborate on and submit innovative projects that could make a difference in the world. Then Cardmembers can vote on which projects American Express should bring to life.
